Salaam! Masaganang Bagong Taon!

Burj Al Arab HotelIt’s the morning of New Year’s Eve. Its pretty cold for a Filipina who’s used to the tropical weather to write this early n the morning but I can’t sleep anymore. It’s my first New Year here in another country. It’s weird that you spend all your life in a country that you’re so familiar with, comfortable with. Then you are uprooted and planted in a foreign soil that is so different from where you come from. Until now my senses think they're still in the Philippines. My dreams are still always in the streets of Tondo where I grew up. It seems only my physical body went abroad. And the rest of the intangible me was left behind. Am I making sense? Its probably the cold... Brrr.

Anyway, I just want to wish everyone a happy new year. May the peace of God be with us this 2008! Salaam!

of course you are making sense, gigi! but you can always call your self back and be one with you in exploring your new place there. am sure there's a lot of interesting things just waiting to be discovered, by you. pag medyo feeling homesick ka, we're just a blog away!!!

adjusting to a new place takes some time, too. or baka there's someone left behind here ... hehe

Wala po. Single akong nag fly papunta dito.

Thanks, Ashley/Azl, for those words that give me comfort. I am learning new things everyday. I can write arabic numbers na. :-)
